RDC: L’Alliance fleuve Congo/M23 annonce le décès de son porte-parole millitaire dans des circonstances tragiques
The political-military movement Alliance fleuve Congo (AFC/M23) announced on February 24, 2026, the death of its military spokesperson, Willy Ngoma, which occurred in circumstances described as tragic near Rubaya, in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
In a statement, the AFC/M23 indicated that Willy Ngoma lost his life at around 3 a.m. The movement expressed "pain and consternation" after the death of the man it described as a committed member of its political coordination.
Following this event, the AFC/M23 criticized the Kinshasa regime, accusing it of disregarding its commitments, particularly those related to the Doha Framework Agreement. The movement stated that it is calling upon the national and international community to bear witness to what it considers to be serious acts.
In its message, the organization also offers its condolences to the biological family of the deceased as well as to what it calls the "revolutionary community" of the DRC, paying tribute to a man who would have dedicated his life to the struggle for social justice and the living together of the Congolese.
At this stage, no official reaction from the Kinshasa authorities has been made public regarding the exact circumstances of this death.
