Senegal has taken another major step in modernizing its healthcare system with the official launch of iCare, the first fully Senegalese telemedicine platform. Accessible 24/7, iCare allows citizens to consult a certified doctor in less than ten minutes, from a phone or computer, wherever they are in the country.
A concrete response to the challenges of access to healthcare
Designed to bring patients and healthcare professionals closer together, iCare aims to eliminate barriers related to distance, waiting lists, and doctor availability. Through secure video consultations, users can access rapid medical advice without having to travel, including at night, on weekends, and on public holidays.
The platform is particularly aimed at populations living in remote areas, people with reduced mobility, and patients requiring regular medical monitoring.
A technological innovation at the service of health
iCare stands out for its integration of an intelligent medical assistant, a first in Senegal. Accessible in French and Wolof, this tool analyzes the symptoms described by the patient and automatically directs them to the most appropriate specialist (general practitioner, pediatrician, gynecologist, cardiologist, ENT specialist, etc.).
The platform also offers:
a secure digital medical record,
electronic prescriptions with QR codes, valid and verifiable at the pharmacy,
the geolocation of on-call pharmacies,
a simple payment via Wave, Orange Money or Free Money.

iCare is based on an inclusive model integrating three profiles: patients, doctors, and pharmacists. Registered doctors, all certified and compliant with the requirements of the Senegalese Medical Association, have comprehensive digital tools to manage their consultations, prescriptions, and income with complete transparency.
