Crues du fleuve Sénégal : L’OMVS place Matam en vigilance orange
The Senegal River Development Organization (OMVS) announced on Tuesday the activation of orange alert in the Matam and Toufoundé Civé areas, due to rising water levels in the Senegal River.
According to the hydrological bulletin published this morning, the river level at Matam has reached 8.01 m, crossing the alert threshold of 8 m, with an upward trend. At Bakel, the level is 9.94 m, close to the critical threshold of 10 m, but slightly lower.
In Kayes, the level is 6.04 m, well below the alert threshold (8 m).
The OMVS reminds that "reaching the alert levels could lead to the river overflowing, particularly in the event of further rains", and calls on the populations of the valley and the delta to take all preventive measures.
Upstream, the Manantali dam continues to store water and reduce the flooding of the Bafing, thus reducing pressure in the basin.
The organization finally emphasized that its alert plan, available to the four member countries (Guinea, Mali, Mauritania, Senegal), includes flood zone maps, localized alert thresholds and a system for rapid dissemination of information in conjunction with national and local authorities.

Pourquoi les autorités sénégalaises en l'occurrence Bassirou Diomaye Faye fait ses préférences à Thiaroye sur mer pour le problème des inondation et aussi à Touba ou même es autorités parlent d'indemnisation .
Aucune autorité étatique n' a mis ses pieds à Matam. C'est parce que Matam n' a pas voté Pastef que cette région est laissé en rade ,je pense ce qui se passe à Matam doit interpeler tout le monde ,le problème du débordement de ce Fleuve est une chose qu'il faut prendre au sérieux.
Tous les senegalais regretttent pourquoi ils on voté à ces pauvres cons.
