Victoire du Sénégal à la CAN Maroc-2025 : La CEDEAO salue un triomphe historique et fédérateur
The Commission of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has extended its warmest congratulations to the Republic of Senegal, its people, its highest authorities and the national football team, following the brilliant victory of the Lions in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) 2025.
In an official statement, the regional institution hailed a well-deserved achievement, the result of hard work, discipline and talent of the Senegalese players as well as the commitment of the technical staff and all stakeholders in national football.
ECOWAS stresses that this remarkable performance goes beyond the realm of sport to become a source of pride shared by all of West Africa.
The Commission also highlighted the symbolic significance of this victory, recalling the fundamental role of sport as a factor of unity, peace and hope, particularly for African youth.
According to ECOWAS, Senegal's success illustrates football's ability to bring people together across borders and strengthen regional sense of belonging.
Reaffirming its commitment to the development of sport, ECOWAS stressed its desire to continue promoting sporting activities as an essential lever for regional integration and social cohesion, serving a more united and cohesive West Africa.
