Syndicat Unique du Trésor : Deux candidats dénoncent un "simulacre d’élections" et saisissent le Tribunal du travail
In a press release, candidates Isaac Mingou and Modou Beye contested the results of the recent elections for the Unified Union of Treasury Workers (SUTT), which they described as a "sham election." Claiming 313 votes compared to 256 for the elected candidate, they asserted that they represent "the sociological majority" of employees and demanded the annulment of the vote.
Electoral fraud and irregularities denounced
According to them, the vote was marred by major violations, including the non-application of Article 8 on proxy voting for agents abroad, an omission which they believe was intended to exclude an electorate favorable to Isaac Mingou.
They also accuse the participation of unauthorized persons including former Treasury agents, ASPs, collectors, gardeners, housekeepers, jakartamen, trainees as well as the independent organizer Pathé Keita who allegedly admitted that "the results do not reflect the sincere will of the Treasury workers".
Financial opacity and refusal of transparency
The two candidates denounce a "financial governance crisis", citing the lack of accountability, the withholding of financial documents and expenditures deemed opaque: "A hundred million spent, including 15 million on unspecified trips" in violation of articles L.5 and L.13 of the Labor Code.
These two candidates also point to the refusal to disclose the electoral register and the signature lists.
Legal recourse and suspension of contributions
A request for annulment has been filed with the Labor Court for violation of Article 8 of the internal regulations and Articles L.8 and L.27 of the Labor Code. According to the signatories of the press release, a criminal complaint for breach of trust and lack of transparency has also been announced.
Mingou and Beye are calling on their 313 supporters to immediately suspend check-off payments, claiming that this action could "financially suffocate" the outgoing leadership.
Call to action
They invite all Treasury workers to join their initiative to "restore legality, transparency and exemplary conduct" within the SUTT.
