Attaques terroristes au Mali : La CEDEAO condamne et appelle à l’unité régionale
The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) strongly condemned the terrorist attacks that occurred on Saturday, April 25, 2026, in several locations in Mali. In a statement released the following day in Abuja, the regional organization described these acts as "heinous" and denounced the barbarity of their perpetrators, who continue to threaten peace and stability throughout the sub-region.
"These acts demonstrate once again the barbaric nature of the perpetrators, who continue to threaten peace, security and stability throughout West Africa," the text emphasizes.
In response to this surge in violence, ECOWAS calls on member states, security forces, regional mechanisms, and the public to unite in a coordinated effort to combat terrorism. The organization emphasizes the need for collective mobilization to contain a scourge that weakens societies and hinders development.
ECOWAS also expressed its solidarity with the people and authorities of Mali, while offering its condolences to the families of the victims.
