Tiken Jah Fakoly : « Des gars comme Ousmane Sonko à la tête de la CEDEAO, ils vont faire respecter » l’organisation
In an interview with German radio station Deutsche Welle, Ivorian reggae artist Tiken Jah Fakoly sharply criticized ECOWAS. He believes the regional organization has "failed (in its mission) because it has not been able to resolve conflicts in a fair manner."
The artist is counting on a renewal of the African political class to restore the structure to its former glory.
“If we could rejuvenate the political class with guys like Ousmane Sonko…”
“I hoped that with the arrival of new young leaders like Ousmane Sonko, people like Alassane Ouattara wouldn't stay in power much longer. And well, if we managed to rejuvenate the political class with guys like Ousmane Sonko, who came to head ECOWAS, I think they'll speak the truth. They'll make ECOWAS respected,” declared the native of Odienné. It's worth remembering that the Ivorian reggae artist is a champion of African unity and the continent's organizations.
