Campagne agricole 2025-2026 : Les ICS livrent un volume record de 105 000 tonnes d’engrais aux distributeurs agréés par le Gouvernement

The Chemical Industries of Senegal (ICS) played a vital role in the 2025-2026 agricultural campaign. Aware of the expectations placed on them, the ICS fully fulfilled their commitments, thus contributing to achieving the objectives set by the Government of Senegal to ensure a successful and efficient agricultural campaign.

Within this framework, the entire supply chain functioned optimally. In close collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Livestock (MASAE), the proactive strategy implemented by the ICS, focused on production and storage, made it possible to anticipate needs and secure supplies.

Producers, at the heart of the system, benefited from a regular and consistent supply, thanks to a rigorous, coordinated and efficient organization. This structured approach not only increased the availability of agricultural inputs, but it once again confirmed the confidence of authorized distributors in the ability of the ICS to sustainably support the national agricultural policy.

For the 2025-2026 agricultural campaign, the ICS have already produced more than 105,000 tonnes of fertilizer, a significant increase compared to the previous campaign, which was 70,000 tonnes.

Of this volume, 93,000 tonnes were delivered to distributors between June and July 2025, thus guaranteeing a regular and secure supply to producers throughout the country.

This approach demonstrates the strengthening of the logistical and organizational systems put in place to ensure optimal achievement of the objectives set jointly with the State of Senegal.

Aware of the issues related to food sovereignty and the need to provide long-term support to the rural world, the ICS also officially launched the ICS Agricultural Support Program (PICSA) on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

This initiative aims to improve the performance of the national agricultural sector through: training on good agricultural practices and the rational use of fertilizers, the distribution of inputs (seeds, fertilizers, phytosanitary products) and capacity building of producers for greater resilience in the face of climate change.

In its first phase, PICSA supported 60 producers in five major agroecological zones of Senegal: Niayes, the Center of the Peanut Basin, Eastern Senegal, Southern Casamance and the Senegal River Valley, thus covering eight regions: Thiès, Diourbel, Kaolack, Tambacounda, Saint-Louis, Kolda, Sédhiou and Ziguinchor.

With the PICSA, the ICS confirms its role as a strategic partner of national agriculture, serving more sustainable, more resilient production geared towards food security in Senegal.

As part of their mission to support the national agricultural sector and in accordance with the guidelines of the Government of Senegal, the ICS have also made more fertilizer available for the 2025-2026 agricultural campaign, along with significant reductions in the prices applied.

Regarding NPK 15-15-15 fertilizer, mainly intended for corn cultivation, the ICS supplied more than 27,000 tons. The price of a 50-kilogram bag, which was 9,500 FCFA in 2024, was reduced to 8,500 FCFA in 2025, thus reflecting a significant effort towards accessibility for producers.

Similarly, for NPK 6-20-10 fertilizer, used mainly in the peanut sector, more than 54,000 tons have been made available. The 50-kilogram bag, previously sold at 6,500 FCFA in 2024, is now offered at 6,000 FCFA in 2025, providing a concrete reduction in the costs borne by farmers.

Through these initiatives, the ICS reaffirms its role as a strategic partner in national agricultural policy, its desire to contribute to Senegal's food sovereignty and its commitment to sustainably supporting the competitiveness and resilience of the rural world.
