Agriculture : Mabouba Diagne, reconduit, appelle à l’unité pour la souveraineté
Dr. Mabouba Diagne expressed his deep gratitude following his reappointment as Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Livestock in the new government announced this weekend. In a statement, he warmly thanked President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye and Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko for their renewed confidence, stating: "It is with deep gratitude that I thank His Excellency President of the Republic Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye and Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko for their renewed confidence in me."
Aware of the responsibility incumbent upon him, Dr. Diagne reaffirms his commitment: "I fully appreciate the responsibility incumbent upon me and reaffirm my commitment to serve the Nation with loyalty, rigor and determination, to build a modern, sustainable and resilient agricultural and pastoral sector, in the service of Senegal's food sovereignty."
He calls for unity and mobilization among his colleagues, agricultural stakeholders, livestock farmers, researchers, farmers' organizations, and partners: "To my colleagues at the ministry, agricultural stakeholders, livestock farmers, researchers, farmers' organizations, and all our partners, I call for unity and mobilization. Together, we will continue the transformation of our agricultural, pastoral, and food systems to make our country a model of shared prosperity."
Under the slogan "All united for food sovereignty and the dignity of our lands", the minister is charting an ambitious course for a key sector of the Economic and Social Recovery Plan.
