Bignona : 2 803 ménages bénéficiaires du Projet de Résilience Agricole, la Ministre Maïmouna Diéye lance le paiement des subventions
Maïmouna Diéye, Minister of Family, Social Action and Solidarity, launched the Agricultural Resilience Program in Bignona, a commune, precisely at the Émile Badiane roundabout. A "strong commitment from the State and its partners to strengthen food security," the minister maintained. This project, according to the Minister of Family, Social Action and Solidarity, will support producers, in addition to building "a more prosperous future for rural communities."
"The Agricultural Resilience Project, implemented by the General Delegation for Social Protection and National Solidarity (DGPSN) with the support of the Adaptive Social Protection Support Project, is fully in line with Vision Senegal 2050, led by the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, and implemented by the Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko," declared Minister Maïmouna Diéye, during this launch ceremony in the south.
She assures that this vision is based on a clear ambition, that of "building a sovereign, just and prosperous Senegal." For this year, the Agricultural Resilience Project will intervene in four departments of the country, namely Bignona, Gossas, Louga and Ranérou. For this first intervention, 15,000 households are concerned for a financial windfall of 3 billion FCFA. The objective of the program is, according to the minister, "to support vulnerable households whose income depends mainly on agriculture, livestock or fishing." "Each household will receive a productive subsidy of 200,000 FCFA, intended to facilitate access to agricultural inputs, small equipment, and to strengthen their production capacity," declared Maïmouna Diéye. She specifies that the department of Bignona alone has "2,803 beneficiary households, for a total amount of 560,600,000 FCFA."
A figure which, according to her, testifies to the strategic importance of this area in the policy of resilience and social justice, but also to the recognition of the central role that Casamance plays in the country's food security. The Minister of Family, Social Action and Solidarity, reveals that "the President of the Republic and his Prime Minister have clearly expressed their desire to break with the model of dependency, by integrating the country's resources into national and international value chains, and by strengthening the capacities of the private sector."
