Because after all, when you proclaim your innocence, you stay. You appear before the judge and face suspicion. You don't hide behind a visa or behind suddenly discovered "obligations."
The truth doesn't need a passport; it defends itself openly. The spectacle is so cruel. Yesterday's media-hyped prosecutor becomes today's fugitive accused.
