Lettre ouverte Pour un accès équitable à la billetterie de la finale (Par Les suiveurs de l’équipe du Sénégal)
To the attention of the Senegalese Football Federation, national sports authorities, civil society, the Senegalese press and the Confederation of African Football.
The qualification of the Senegalese national team for the final of the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco is a source of immense national pride. It rewards the players, staff, management, authorities, sponsors, and also the thousands of supporters who accompany the Lions of Teranga.
Yet, less than 48 hours before this historic final, many fans from Senegal and the diaspora, having already incurred considerable expenses for travel and accommodation, find themselves without access to tickets. The official CAF platform is sold out. In Tangier, Rabat, Casablanca… no clear information is available. The only recourse is the black market, at exorbitant prices.
This situation raises questions. Regulations stipulate that a quota of tickets – announced at approximately 30% – is allocated to each finalist team. Why then are Senegalese supporters struggling to obtain tickets supposedly reserved for them? What measures has the Federation taken to facilitate equitable access to tickets and curb opaque, informal, and poorly controlled sales and distribution, which disadvantage supporters who have traveled independently?
Beyond this event, it's a structural issue. Senegal, a major nation in African football, deserves a rigorous, transparent, and proactive ticketing system, especially for matches abroad, and particularly for this final, with a pre-established plan.
Facilitating access to tickets means protecting fans, combating speculation, and guaranteeing a strong and massive Senegalese presence in the stands, alongside the official supporters' groups. This requires clear information on quotas, the availability of digital or physical tickets through supporters' associations and the diaspora, and a secure platform that eliminates fraudulent intermediaries.
Because football is not only played on the field, but also in the strength of its 12th Gaïndé.

Respectfully,
By the followers of the Senegal team. For wide distribution.
