Ziguinchor : Un potentiel économique énorme, mais peu exploité
"The Ziguinchor region has immense economic potential, but it still faces certain challenges." This, at least, is the governor's opinion. Internal isolation and low levels of industrialization are among the constraints highlighted by the head of the regional executive.
For Mor Talla Tine, it is essential that the population get to work to overcome the numerous challenges so that the southern region can continue to contribute to the country's economic growth. The governor was speaking after the April 4th parade.
The head of the regional executive took advantage of the presence of administrative officials from Gambia and Guinea-Bissau to discuss the need for increased collaboration with these two countries bordering the Ziguinchor region, with a view to revitalizing cross-border cooperation.
"We have our counterparts from the West Coast Region in The Gambia, from Gabú and Cacheu in Guinea-Bissau. Their presence here demonstrates a shared commitment to strengthening cross-border cooperation for the benefit of our communities. And we will take this opportunity to relaunch or revitalize the existing framework for collaboration between these different authorities so that our services can work together more closely through joint initiatives that will undoubtedly facilitate the free movement of people and goods, but also make cross-border corridors areas where citizens of our respective countries living there, just like those in other localities, will benefit from state support," Governor Tine explained.
