Attaques israélo-américaines contre l’Iran : la consigne donnée aux ambassadeurs sénégalais
Senegal was among the first countries to react to the Israeli-American attacks against Iran, launched last Saturday. In a statement, Dakar expressed its concern, condemned the use of force, and called for an immediate ceasefire.
On Monday, in L'Observateur, the Minister of African Integration and Foreign Affairs, Cheikh Niang, revealed that Senegal's representatives in the countries affected by this crisis have received clear instructions. "We are monitoring the situation, and our ambassadors are all mobilized," revealed the head of Senegalese diplomacy, speaking to the newspaper of the Future Media Group. "They are required to provide us with information on how the situation is evolving. We ourselves are closely monitoring the situation."
Cheikh Niang continued: “If there are actions to be taken, we will take them in due course. We are awaiting the return of our ambassadors to determine the next steps. The coming days will be more decisive. We have already issued a statement outlining our position. And we did so quite early, compared to many countries, to clarify our perspective and approach on this matter.”
