Coopération parlementaire : Le Sénégal et le Royaume-Uni renforcent leurs liens
The President of the National Assembly, El Malick Ndiaye, received, this Wednesday, October 8, a British parliamentary delegation on an official visit to Senegal, we learned from page X of the National Assembly of Senegal.
During the meeting, El Malick Ndiaye welcomed the creation of the Senegal-United Kingdom Parliamentary Friendship Group, which is expected to become a privileged framework for dialogue, exchanges and cooperation between the two legislative institutions.
"This mechanism will promote the sharing of experiences, capacity building and the consolidation of good parliamentary practices," said El Malick Ndiaye.
"This meeting is part of the dynamics of parliamentary diplomacy, an essential lever for strengthening relations of friendship, cooperation and economic partnership between the two countries," the text reports.
El Malick Ndiaye also reaffirmed the Senegalese Parliament's commitment to supporting bilateral cooperation efforts, particularly in the areas of economy, investment, innovation and energy transition, in order to build a mutually beneficial partnership that is resolutely forward-looking.
The British delegation welcomed the warm welcome it received and expressed its full confidence in the leadership of the President of the National Assembly to consolidate and deepen the historic ties that unite Senegal and the United Kingdom.
"The President of the National Assembly shared with the delegation the "Senegal Vision 2050" led by President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, emphasizing the strategic role that the United Kingdom could play in achieving this national ambition based on peace, shared prosperity and sustainable development," the note concludes.
