Diplomatie sénégalaise : ce que le ministre Cheikh Niang attend de l’opposition
In the latest cabinet reshuffle, Cheikh Niang succeeded Yassine Fall as head of the Ministry of African Integration, Foreign Affairs, and Senegalese Abroad. In an interview published this Monday in L'Observateur, the diplomat outlined his approach: "to conduct a pragmatic, fruitful, and strategic diplomacy, promoting African integration, defending Senegal's interests everywhere, and ensuring the protection of our compatriots abroad."
In this context, Cheikh Niang is extending an olive branch to the opposition. "In the exercise of my duties, I expect a responsible and constructive engagement from all national actors, without exception," he replied to a question about his expectations of the political factions opposed to the regime and of civil society.
The minister elaborated: "My conviction is that foreign policy must be seen as a sacred national cause, around which everyone must agree, through informed observations, concrete proposals and support for our diplomatic initiatives."

Monsieur le Ministre
Ne faut-il pas adresser cette demande à votre Premier Ministre qui ne cesse de torpiller les positions étrangères du Président de la République ?
