El Malick Ndiaye à Nouakchott pour renforcer la coopération parlementaire sénégalo-mauritanienne
The Speaker of the National Assembly of Senegal, El Malick Ndiaye, has arrived in Nouakchott for a two-day official visit, at the invitation of his Mauritanian counterpart, Mohamed Bemba Meguett. This visit follows the latter's trip to Dakar in June 2024 and illustrates the two countries' desire to transform their historic friendship into concrete and dynamic parliamentary cooperation.
The agenda for this visit includes fruitful exchanges, intensive working sessions, and discussions on parliamentary diplomacy, dialogue between peoples, and peacebuilding. Beyond the protocol lies the idea that parliaments can play a central role in the stability and development of the sub-region. Dakar and Nouakchott aim to demonstrate that, transcending national borders and politics, parliamentary dialogue is a vehicle for action and rapprochement.
For President Ndiaye, this visit is not merely symbolic. It marks a strong commitment to strengthening cooperation, sharing experiences, and building bridges between the Senegalese and Mauritanian people. And in Nouakchott, amidst meetings and official encounters, a clear message is also being delivered: Parliament, far from being a simple legislative body, can become a key player in diplomacy and regional integration.
