Forum Invest In Sénégal : Diomaye Faye consolide l’axe Dakar-Riyad et diversifie les alliances
Bassirou Diomaye Faye sent a strong message at the opening ceremony of the Invest in Senegal Forum (FII Senegal) 2025, affirming a Senegalese economic diplomacy open to new balances. Between traditional cooperation and emerging partnerships, Senegal positions itself as a strategic crossroads between Africa, the Arab world, and the BRICS. Saudi Arabia, the guest of honor, illustrates this direction.
"The choice of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as guest of honor is not insignificant. It reflects a clear direction: that of a Senegal that wants to combine sovereignty and openness, by diversifying its alliances," said the Head of State. "Our ties are solid, based on fraternity and trust," said President Faye, welcoming Saudi investments in infrastructure, energy, and health. Thanks to Saudi development funds, four major projects are underway, including an ambitious seawater desalination program.
Beyond the bilateral partnership, the message is global: Senegal wants to establish itself as a platform for the convergence of capital and ideas, a stable anchor in a changing continent. This economic diplomacy is part of a broader strategy of continental integration, driven by the African Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). "Together, we can do more and better," declared Diomaye Faye, calling for mutually beneficial partnerships. A balanced discourse, between independence and cooperation, that redefines Senegal's place in the new global economic geopolitics.
