Mort de Khamenei : la vive émotion de Me Madické Niang
Reacting to the Israeli-American attacks against Iran, in L'Observateur, lawyer Madick Niang expressed his sadness at the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, killed in the bombings. Describing the Shiite leader's passing as a "great loss" for Islam, the former Senegalese foreign minister (2009-2012) under Abdoulaye Wade believes that "all Muslims in the world should be saddened today by what is happening in Iran."
Madické Niang was speaking on the sidelines of the awards ceremony for the Quran recitation competition. According to L'Observateur, he called for a cessation of hostilities, warning that "this war risks being very destructive and deadly if it continues." "Iran will continue to fight until the very last moment," stated the former minister, who welcomed the statement from the Ministry of African Integration and Foreign Affairs condemning the strikes against Iran and calling for a ceasefire.
