Relations économiques : Le “New deal” que Sonko propose au Maroc
Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko is on the second day of his official visit to Morocco. He used the day to launch the Senegalese-Moroccan economic forum this morning. Addressing Moroccan public officials and members of the private sectors from both countries, Sonko highlighted the shortcomings in the economic relationship between the two nations.
For the Senegalese Prime Minister, despite the strength of the legal framework governing this economic cooperation, "the volume of our trade and the structure of our partnership do not yet reflect the level that corresponds to the legitimate expectations of our people." He points out, for example, that in 2024, the total volume of trade between Morocco and Senegal was estimated at nearly $286 million, and in the first 11 months of 2025, it reached $307 million.
"These figures show that our economic relationship is progressing, but still below, and far below, its strategic potential. Above all, they tell us that there is significant room for improvement if we change the scale and nature of our relationship," the head of government told the audience.
“We don’t just want to buy and sell…”
What Sonko wants is to move from an economic relationship still largely focused on trade flows to a more mature one. One based on productive complementarity, co-production, local processing, and the integration of the two countries' value chains. "We don't just want to buy and sell. We want to produce together, invest together, process together, export together, and above all, consume from elsewhere together," he proposes.
Ousmane Sonko expressed his desire to boost trade on a more balanced basis through the establishment of a joint trade committee and the exchange of economic and commercial information. This, he said, would allow for a better understanding of "our respective markets." He then reiterated the importance of the AfCFTA, which could give bilateral cooperation a broader continental scope.

Le Maroc a réussit sa percée sur le marché européen, marché qui est jusqu'a maintenant reste très hermétiquement fermé pour le Sénégal. Donc le Maroc avec son expertise et via ses labels peut faire un partenariat avec le Sénégal, dans l'agriculture : melons, pastèques, tomates, les agrumes, les produits chimiques le phosphate, les engrais..
Cependant, seul un respect mutuel et une consideration des interets mutuels ... Évitons les coups tordus comme celui orchestré par la RAM pour couler Sénégal Airlines ne sont plus permis,... Perso, depuis cet épisode je n'ai plus confiance...
Respect et confiance voilà la seule voie de salut, sinon pas la peine de continuer ensemble.
Voilà le résultat, le problème du Sénégal, c'est que ceux qui nous dirigent ne savent rien, ils ont d'une manque de culture inouïe, d'une méconnaissance des affaires indescriptible. Ils n'ont rien accompli dans ce pays, à part aller à l'université, avoir la chance de réussir un concours ou de bénéficier d'un quota, nourri et blanchi par l'état et l'argent du contribuable depuis leur entrée dans la vie active. Pendant ce temps les baols baol et consort travaillent dur et connaissent mieux la vie et les affaires que ces hommes à col blanc qui parlent pour ne rien dire.
