Soutien à la Palestine : Le Sénégal reconduit à L’ONU
Senegal has been reappointed by the United Nations General Assembly to head the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, which it has chaired continuously since its creation on November 10, 1975. This decision recognizes the constant commitment of the State and the people of Senegal to the Palestinian cause.
With this renewal, Senegal is called upon to strengthen the means by which its citizens can express their support for the Palestinian people. The country must ensure that all products of Israeli origin imported into its territory are clearly identified, including those sold by major retail chains. Greater transparency is also expected regarding economic, commercial, sporting, cultural, and religious relations between the Senegalese state, public and private companies, and Israel or its public and private entities. Product labeling should not be limited to products from the occupied Palestinian territories such as the West Bank, Gaza, or East Jerusalem, but should cover all Israeli products and companies involved in the occupation and colonization.
This renewal underlines the importance of Senegal's diplomatic role within the United Nations and reflects its desire to allow the Senegalese population to express its support for Palestine while strengthening the transparency of economic and diplomatic relations with Israel.
