L’ambassadrice de France au Sénégal, Christine Fages, annonce la couleur pour le duel France-Sénégal en 2026
Invited to the program "En Vérité" on Radio Senegal, the French ambassador to Senegal, Ms. Christine Fages, spoke about the highly anticipated match between Senegal and France during the 2026 World Cup.
When asked about this symbolic poster, 23 years after Senegal's feat in 2002, the diplomat displayed great confidence, declaring with a touch of humor: "My priority in 2026 is to win the match. We will win the match against Senegal."
However, she qualified her stance by mentioning her attachment to both nations: "I am in an easy position. If France wins, I win. If Senegal wins, I win too."
For Ms. Fages, this meeting is much more than just a sporting event. She emphasized the role of football as "an instrument of diplomacy and unity," recalling the strong and historical ties uniting the two countries.
The ambassador also recalled France's support for the Lions during the last CA, concluding that the 2026 duel will above all be "a moment of sharing and fraternity with our Senegalese friends".
