118 millions USD pour l’Afrique verte : la BAD passe à l’action
The African Development Bank announced in Maputo a $40 million injection to strengthen the Alliance for Green Infrastructure in Africa's Project Development Fund, bringing its capital to $118 million. This initiative combines grants and commercial capital to reduce initial risks and stimulate interest from private investors.
This pioneering financing is part of a strategy to transform the continent's climate ambitions into concrete projects. It will support sustainable infrastructure in key sectors such as renewable energy, water management, and green transport.
Like the financial aspect, this approach illustrates the AfDB's role as a catalyst for innovative solutions, capable of mobilizing resources on a large scale while responding to environmental and social challenges.
By leveraging private capital, the fund paves the way for an African model of green development, where climate impact and economic profitability combine to stimulate sustainable growth on the continent.
