Agritech au Sénégal : Quand le numérique réinvente l’agriculture, mais laisse les petits exploitants à la marge
The rise of agritech in Senegal is gradually reshaping the agricultural value chain, providing producers with better access to financing, inputs, and markets through digital platforms. These solutions are primarily focused on the horticultural and cereal sectors, where they help improve yields and limit post-harvest losses.
These innovations represent a strategic shift for the agricultural sector, combining technology, data, and logistics. They create opportunities for stakeholders who are better equipped and able to quickly integrate digital tools into their daily practices.
However, the real impact of agritech remains dependent on the inclusion of smallholder farmers, who still represent the majority of Senegalese producers. Their integration requires not only appropriate training, but also financial and institutional support capable of reducing barriers to adoption.
If this dynamic succeeds in reaching all farmers, agritech could become a structuring lever for the modernization of the agricultural sector, strengthening productivity, food security and the economic resilience of rural areas.
