Al Amine Lô à la Banque algérienne du Sénégal : “Vous n’avez plus d’excuses pour bâtir un pont entre nos deux États »
During the ceremony commemorating the 71st anniversary of the start of the Algerian revolution, which has become the National Day of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, the Minister of State to the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, in charge of monitoring the steering and evaluation of the national transformation agenda Senegal 2050, welcomed the strategic role of the Algerian Bank of Senegal (ABS Bank) in strengthening economic relations between Dakar and Algiers.
Ahmadou Al Aminou Lo praised, last Friday, "this first bank with 100% Algerian capital established in Senegal, believing that it must now be an engine of bilateral cooperation."
"When you have a bank with a capital of $100 million, the most capitalized in Senegal, you no longer have any excuses for not building a bridge between Algerian and Senegalese private operators, between our two states," said the Minister of State, calling for more boldness and proactivity.
“Because,” he said, “we are waiting for you to inaugurate together a very balanced partnership. You have to teach us how to give to us. We also have to give to you how to teach you.”
According to him, the Algerian Bank of Senegal represents a key lever for connecting the economies of the two countries, stimulating investment and boosting trade.
In line with the vision of the Senegal 2050 Agenda, Ahmadou Al Aminou Lô stressed the need to deepen cooperation in strategic sectors such as hydrocarbons, heavy industries, agro-industry and mining.
He also recalled the strength of the ties between Senegal and Algeria, founded since the 1960s on a fraternal friendship and cooperation covering several areas: education, health, energy, culture and trade.
Among recent achievements, the Minister of State cited the Algiers-Dakar maritime line, the opening of a permanent exhibition center of the Algerian Society of Fairs and Exhibitions, as well as the partnership between the national oil and gas institutes of the two countries.
Earlier, the Minister of State paid tribute to the Algerian people and their struggle for freedom. "On this symbolic day, we celebrate the bravery of the Algerian people and the fraternity that unites our two nations in peace, solidarity and shared prosperity," he declared.
