Babacar Bâ : « Les ressources endogènes ne suffisent pas à rétablir la soutenabilité budgétaire »
Babacar Bâ, president of the Forum du liticiable (Justice Forum), reacted this Thursday to the Senegalese government's launch of a public offering of 300 billion CFA francs. While he welcomes this initiative, which aims to mobilize national savings to finance development, he believes that it alone cannot constitute a sustainable response to the country's budgetary challenges.
"Mr. Prime Minister, endogenous resources alone are not enough to restore and consolidate fiscal sustainability. The State must continue to work with the aim of securing a new financial support program with the IMF," he declared on his digital platforms.
For many observers, domestic debt, although less restrictive, cannot replace structural international financial support, capable of supporting economic reforms and guaranteeing macroeconomic stability.
Babacar Bâ called on the government to combine internal mobilization and external partnerships in order to consolidate investor confidence and ensure balanced financing for development.
