Double consécration pour le Sénégal à l’OACI : une première africaine
On the occasion of the 42nd ICAO General Assembly, held in Montreal from September 23 to October 3, 2025, Senegal distinguished itself by receiving two Certificates from the President of the Council, thus becoming the only African country to obtain a double distinction.
These certificates recognize the country's remarkable progress in aviation safety and security, reflecting an improvement of more than twenty points in international audits since 2018. They demonstrate the effectiveness of the reforms undertaken, which combine the modernization of airport infrastructure, ongoing training of staff, and the adoption of strict international standards.
Beyond technical recognition, this double distinction establishes Senegal as a regional benchmark in the field of civil aviation. It illustrates the relevance of its strategy for modernizing and governing the sector, based on targeted investments, international partnerships, and institutional strengthening.
This achievement strengthens the country's credibility on the global aviation scene and constitutes a strategic asset for its economic, tourism, and commercial development. It positions Senegal as a potential hub for regional connectivity and a model for other African nations aspiring to high standards and sustainable performance in civil aviation.
