Entre accalmie et pression : les matériaux de construction en équilibre instable
In August 2025, building materials prices recorded a slight decline of 0.4% compared to July, mainly reflecting a decrease in plumbing, sanitary and basic materials.
This monthly easing offers a temporary respite to industry players, but contrasts with an annual increase of 2.9%, which reflects the persistence of tensions over certain essential inputs. Costs therefore remain structurally high, limiting the resumption of construction sites and weighing on companies' profitability.
While this development suggests a slightly more stable market, it does not change the overall fragility of the construction sector, which is still marked by late payments, reduced order books and financial difficulties for many companies.
All of these elements highlight the need for continuous price monitoring and particular attention to support policies to ensure the sustainable revival of the sector, which is key to employment and investment in Senegal.

pour donner le change à la récession dans le secteur de la construction, on nous invente des motifs fallacieux injustifiés.
