Inquiétudes suite au limogeage de Sonko : La Banque Morgan Stanley alerte
Recent political developments in Senegal are unsettling the markets. Worse still, international investors are even likely to increase "the chances of Senegal defaulting" on its debt. This comes after the dismissal of Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko on Friday. At least, that's what the investment bank Morgan Stanley told Reuters.
"Our conversations with clients suggest that this decision was not part of investors' base case," Morgan Stanley noted in a report on Sonko's dismissal. Sonko had consistently opposed debt restructuring.
Currently, the country's bonds have suffered a sharp decline, according to the same source.
