Nouvelle taxe sur les transferts d’argent : Les "craintes" du DG de Wave Sénégal
El Hadji Malick Guèye, the Managing Director of Wave Senegal, spoke about the regulatory reforms governing their sector and the new tax applied to money transfers (TTA) in Senegal. This measure was instituted by the current authorities as part of the implementation of the Economic and Social Recovery Plan (PRES). He was very clear on this subject.
"However, this environment remains demanding and evolving. The strengthening of the regulatory framework and tax discussions, particularly around the new so-called TTA tax, introduce a degree of uncertainty," he noted in an interview with Financial Afrik.
The head of Wave Senegal assures that they fully understand the motivations behind the tax and support the sector's contribution to the national effort. "Nevertheless, it is important that the design and implementation of this tax remain fair and balanced, in order to preserve the sector's momentum and avoid placing an excessive burden on users' purchasing power," he emphasizes.
Thus, the CEO of Wave Senegal was keen to point out that in this context, dialogue between authorities and stakeholders in the sector is essential to guarantee a sustainable, predictable and innovation-friendly framework.
