Nouvelle fiscalité du mobile money: L'alerte des prestataires de transfert d’argent
The Permanent Framework for Consultation of Money Transfer Providers expressed, in a press release published on September 17, its "deep concerns" regarding the new tax measures applied to mobile money.
The organization, led by Malick Dione, warns of the risk of "unbalancing a fragile ecosystem" and causing "serious disruptions" in the money transfer sector.
The CPCP was keen to point out that Senegal is today a model of financial inclusion in West Africa, the result of more than ten years of momentum that has enabled millions of citizens to access financial services.
According to him, this progress is "threatened by excessive taxation" likely to discourage users and weaken the sector's players.
In its memo, the organization advocated for "an inclusive and concerted approach" involving the state, service providers, operators, and consumer representatives. It called for the opening of a "framework for dialogue" to find balanced and sustainable solutions.
Not without finally inviting all stakeholders to come together around the table to avoid "disastrous" consequences on the digital and social economy, while preserving the national interest.

Ces gens patriotisme zéro. Pour 10% de frais au profits d'orange money pas de problèmes. Pour 1,5% de frais dont 0,05% pour rééquilibrer nos finances, nous allons avoir droit à toutes sortes de commentaires négatifs.
