Papa Amadou Sarr : "La souveraineté industrielle, ça ne se décrète pas, ça se construit, bloc après bloc"
The Choiseul Africa Business Forum 2025, which took place on November 4 and 5 in Rabat, brought together more than 800 decision-makers to discuss the theme: "Made With Africa: industrialization, innovation and exports".
Among the most notable voices, that of Papa Amadou Sarr, the new Managing Director of PORTEO GROUP, made a resounding plea in favor of sustainable industrialization and the economic sovereignty of the continent.
During the opening panel, Papa Amadou Sarr relayed the group's pan-African vision, stating that "Industrial sovereignty is not decreed, it is built, block by block: master, anchor, transmit."
The CEO of PORTEO GROUP stressed the need for a systemic approach: control of local value chains; territorial anchoring of industries; transmission of knowledge.
Far from a defensive approach, PORTEO GROUP, a pan-African reference in infrastructure and industrialization, positions itself as an actor in co-creation (co-industrialize, co-innovate, co-export), aiming to make Africa an equitable strategic partner.
With 3,000 km of infrastructure completed, 8 centers of expertise, and an average annual growth of 21%, the group presented its flagship projects in infrastructure, energy, and logistics. PORTEO GROUP, now led by a seasoned expert in public policy, reaffirms its mission as an African champion capable of designing, financing, and executing transformative projects to strengthen the continent's industrial autonomy.
