Gaz sénégalo-mauritanien : Ce qui a été produit en 2026 et les prémices pour 2026
Last week, Woodside released its figures on the production and marketing of oil from Sangomar. This week, it is Kosmos Energy, the operator of the Senegalese-Mauritanian gas project, that is providing an update.
The Texas company reports that production from phase 1 of the GTA project averaged around 14,200 net barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d) during the last quarter of 2025. The project, it says, is gradually reaching the floating LNG carrier's nominal capacity of 2.7 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) oil equivalent.
Thus, during the fourth quarter of 2025, approximately 8 cargoes of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) were loaded, in line with forecasts, bringing the total for 2025 to 18.5 cargoes. The company also shipped its first gross cargo of condensate.
"Year-to-date production is strong, at around 2.9 Mtpa oil equivalent, with 6.5 gross LNG cargoes and one gross condensate cargo loaded to date. The volume of gross LNG cargoes is expected to almost double year-on-year," the company reports.
This year, Kosmos Energy aims to reduce the operating costs of GTA Phase 1 by more than 50% of the net operating costs per barrel of oil equivalent (BOE) compared to the previous year. The operator plans to implement a more economical operating model.
