Although the US dollar is the most traded currency in the world, that does not make it the most valuable.
Forbes magazine has published a list of the 10 most valuable currencies in the world, using a method based on data collected from the global foreign exchange market.
1. The Kuwaiti dinar
According to this criterion, the Kuwaiti dinar is the most valuable currency in the world, with one dinar worth 3.25 dollars.
In short, for example, one US dollar is equivalent to 30 kobo of dinars.
Kuwait is located between Saudi Arabia and Iraq, and derives most of its revenue from crude oil exports.
2. The Bahraini dinar
One Bahraini dinar is worth 2.65 dollars. This corresponds to approximately 37 kobo to one dollar.
Bahrain is a country in the Gulf region, bordered by the Gulf Sea on one side and Saudi Arabia on the other.
The country derives its revenue from various sources, with non-oil revenue reaching 85.9% in 2024.
3. The Omani rial
The Omani rial was introduced in 1970. One riyal is worth at least 2.60 US dollars.
In short, for example, one US dollar is equivalent to 0.38 Omani rials.
The country is bordered by the United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
Oman is among the world's leading exporters of oil and gas, like its other prosperous neighbors.
4. The Jordanian dinar

Jordan is a Middle Eastern country. It is not as dependent on oil as its neighbors.

5. The pound sterling

The Gibraltar pound was first used in the 1920s, and today its value is linked to that of the pound sterling, meaning it will continue to fluctuate in relation to it.

7. The Swiss franc
The franc is the official currency of Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
This currency is considered relatively safe due to the cautious nature of the Swiss political system.

8. The Cayman Islands dollar
The Cayman Islands are a British Overseas Territory located in the Caribbean, and this territory is best known for the opportunities it offers to all.
The Cayman Islands dollar was introduced in the 1970s and is pegged to the US dollar.
One Cayman Islands dollar is worth 1.21 US dollars.
9. The euro
The euro was officially introduced in 2002.
This is the currency used by the European Union; at least 20 of the 27 member countries of the union use it.
One euro is worth 1.18 US dollars.
10. US Dollar
The US dollar has entered the list of the 10 most valuable currencies in the world.
This currency was first used in the 1700s and was adopted in the country, as well as in some territories and independent countries, including Ecuador.
The American economy is the largest in the world in terms of gross domestic product (GDP) and the dollar is the most traded currency in the world.
The dollar is also increasingly used in commercial transactions on the markets, particularly for the purchase of oil, gold and minerals.
