The President of the Republic said on Sunday that he was satisfied with the progress made in the implementation of the Diomaye Plan for Casamance (PDC), while calling for increased resources to accelerate the achievement of the objectives set for the definitive return of peace and the sustainable development of the region.

Following a field visit to Dar es Salaam, in the municipality of Nyassia, the Head of State indicated that he had personally observed the progress of the actions undertaken and the concrete translation of the instructions given, following the presentations of the National Agency for the Revival of Economic and Social Activities in Casamance (ANRAC), the National Center for Mine Action in Senegal (CNAMS) and the organization Humanity & Inclusion.

Bassirou Diomaye Faye noted that with an average execution rate of 39%, significant efforts have been made, recalling that the Diomaye Plan for Casamance (PDC), designed in October 2024 and endowed with a budget of 54 billion CFA francs, constitutes a major step in the strategy for stabilizing and reviving Casamance.

The President of the Republic considered that these results, obtained in just over a year of implementation, are encouraging, while stressing the need to intensify support for ANRAC and other structures involved, particularly in land decontamination, the return of displaced populations and their economic empowerment.

He also praised the commitment of administrative and customary authorities, defense and security forces, as well as national and international partners, whose actions contribute to consolidating the achievements of the PDC.

According to the head of state, despite the economic lag experienced by Casamance due to the conflict, the region's potential remains considerable and justifies strengthening the intervention of the state and its partners to initiate a development dynamic that meets the expectations of the population.

Reaffirming his conviction that peace is an essential condition for the success of the PDC, President Faye reiterated his commitment to working for lasting peace in Casamance and for the continuation of the reconciliation process, for the benefit of all of Senegal.
