Baccalauréat 2026 à Kédougou : 1 255 candidats attendus, un important dispositif logistique et sécuritaire déployé.
The Kédougou Academy is preparing to experience one of the most important moments of its school calendar with the start of the 2026 general baccalaureate exams. In total, 1,255 candidates are registered this year in the different series, while the administrative and educational authorities have taken a set of measures intended to guarantee a smooth running of the exams.
Statistics show a very high concentration of candidates in the L2 series, which alone accounts for 840 registered students , or nearly 67% of the total . This predominance of literature-related tracks represents a major challenge for the overall performance of the Academy.
The L1 series comes in second place with 252 candidates (20%), followed by the S2 series with 142 registered candidates (11.3%). The other science series remain poorly represented: S4 has 15 candidates, S3 has 4, while the S1 series has only 2 candidates.
Candidates will take their exams in several main centers spread across the region.
The Kédougou Municipal High School has the largest number of candidates, with 658 registered , exclusively in the humanities track. The Kédougou Industrial and Mining Technical High School (LTIMK) will receive 443 candidates , including all science tracks as well as candidates in technical fields.
Within the region, the Saraya High School will register 155 candidates , compared to 149 for the Salémata High School .
The secondary centers of Bandafassi , Fongolimbi and Mako will host 89 candidates , in order to bring the examination venues closer to students living in the most remote areas.
Gathered in a Regional Development Committee (CRD) dedicated to exam preparation, the authorities stressed the particular challenges of organizing the baccalaureate in a region marked by rugged terrain and the isolation of several localities.
In order to guarantee the effective presence of supervisors, jury presidents and candidates in hard-to-reach centers, the Governor, Prefects, mayors, technical services and mining companies were asked to contribute to the provision of means of transport.
Securing the centers is also a priority. Measures have been taken to allow the deployment of defense and security forces, as well as firefighters, to the sites deemed most sensitive, in order to ensure the smooth running of the events.
The CRD also issued an appeal to education unions. Leaders are urged to raise awareness among their members about the importance of respecting the principles that underpin the credibility of examinations: punctuality, diligence, objectivity, and professionalism.
Educational authorities also encourage families to play their full role during this crucial period.
Parents are encouraged to ensure that candidates get a sufficient night's sleep before each test, eat a balanced breakfast, and arrive at the examination center at least twenty minutes before the start of roll call.
They are also advised to check the day before that students have their exam invitation, identification, and the required materials (pens, pencils, eraser, and ruler). Mobile phones and any unauthorized documents remain strictly prohibited in the exam rooms.
Through this organizational, security and educational system, the Academy of Kédougou intends to bring together all the necessary conditions to allow the 1,255 candidates to approach the 2026 baccalaureate exams in a calm, fair and conducive environment for success.
