Crise scolaire : Le G7 durcit le ton avec une grève de 48 heures pour le respect des accords
The standoff between the government and the seven most representative teachers' unions (G7) is intensifying. Following the warning in October and the walkout followed by a full strike on November 18 and 19, teachers are observing another 48-hour strike this Tuesday, January 13, 2026, to demand that the government honor its commitments.
At the heart of the anger, explains Abdoulaye Diallo, coordinator of the G7 in Sédhiou, is the non-publication of decrees 74-347 and 2006-392, adopted in November 2025 to regularize the status of decision-making teachers.
The union members also denounce a dysfunctional administrative system that is blocking the immediate signing of decrees granting admission to the CEAP and CAP programs, as well as demanding increased due diligence for DMC loans. On the financial front, there is considerable frustration with the delayed payments to contract workers and the perceived unfair over-taxation of back pay. Finally, Abdoulaye Diallo and his colleagues are demanding fairness in the application for special class allowances for teachers in Franco-Arabic schools (EFA).
