Crise universitaire : Omar Pène s’engage dans la médiation
While traveling, singer-songwriter Omar Pène held a video conference with student representatives from Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar (UCAD). In his report sent to Seneweb on Monday, December 8, 2025, the artist, known as "the students' friend," pledged to relay the students' concerns to the authorities upon his return to Dakar.
According to the leader of Super Diamono, the students expressed their concern about the presence of law enforcement on campus, which they consider a major obstacle to the resumption of classes. Omar Pène said he "fully understands this feeling" and affirmed that he had "taken careful note of their concerns."
Confident in the students' ability to act responsibly once trust is restored, he recalls that both sides have "always been able to find positive solutions".
For him, the current crisis "challenges the entire country." He insists that Senegalese universities must not become a space for confrontation, but "remain a place of learning, dialogue, and collective building."
According to him, only "constant dialogue, mutual respect and goodwill" will make it possible to overcome this sensitive moment.

Ils n'ont pas conscience de la grande colère sourde et visible des étudiants. Omar " étudiant" c'était il ya plus de 35 ans, les bourses étaient payés et les étudiants n'étaient pas tous boursiers, 'i trop nombreux comme aujourd'hui
