Crise au PAPSE : Les prestataires des Daara annoncent un arrêt total des cours
The modern Quranic education sector is facing a difficult situation. In a press release, service providers for Daaras affiliated with the Project to Support the Promotion of Education Services (PAPSE) announced the immediate suspension of all teaching and learning activities throughout the country.
This radical decision follows a persistent financial dispute between the contract teachers and the project management.
The signatories of the statement denounce the non-payment of their fees for a period of six consecutive months. According to the group, this situation has persisted since May 2025 and extends until January 2026, despite the validation of services rendered by the relevant project authorities.
"Regular payment of service providers is a contractual obligation and an essential element in maintaining a healthy, sustainable and productive collaboration," the group reminds us.
The suspension of classes comes after an unsuccessful attempt at mediation. A meeting had been held between five representatives of the service providers and the PAPSE management to try to resolve the crisis. However, the group emphasizes that "no positive response has been given" to their subsequent verbal and written requests.
The work stoppage affects all Daaras in the PAPSE network in Senegal. The service providers claim to be facing financial hardship that directly impacts their motivation and ability to continue their educational missions.
The group is making the resumption of classes conditional on the full payment of sums owed to all service providers. At present, the management of PAPSE has not yet officially commented on this work stoppage.
