Dialogue social : Pourquoi cette nomination-démission de Seydi Ababacar Ndiaye ?
History will record that Seydi Ababacar Ndiaye's tenure as head of the committee was shorter than a rose's bloom. On February 13, the former Secretary General of the SAES (Syndicat Autonome des Enseignants et Supérieures) shared on his Facebook page a decree from Minister Daouda Ngom appointing Seydi Ababacar Ndiaye as "President of the Social Dialogue Committee for the Higher Education, Research, and Innovation Sub-Sector."
The three-year term, renewable once, ultimately lasted only a week. On February 19, Minister Daouda Ngom published another decree appointing Professor Lamine Guèye as president of the social dialogue committee for the higher education, research, and innovation sub-sector.
What about Seydi Ababacar Ndiaye, who was already appointed to this position? The new decree makes no mention of his name. What happened that led to Seydi Ababacar being chosen over Lamine Guèye, who already holds a demanding position as Rector of Cheikh Ahmadoul Khadim University of Touba?
The only reaction came from Seydi Ababacar Ndiaye. “My posts didn’t go down well with the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESRI),” he wrote on Facebook. It’s true that a few days earlier, he had posted highly critical messages about the government following its press conference. In a post dated February 12, he rebuked his colleague Daouda Ngom. “How can a Minister say, ‘It’s all or nothing’? If he says it after the death of a student, are we to understand that other deaths wouldn’t bother him, especially when the belligerent student union encourages him to continue?” he asked.
Two days earlier, in another post, he was even more critical. "Corruption, infiltration, conspiracy etc. The same old rhetoric! The same bastards, the same old dogs. The PM (he defied the students), the MESRI and the MINT must resign..."

These are undoubtedly the messages that the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESRI) saw afterward. It then decided to stage a comeback. The question now is whether this is a sign of good governance.
