Éducation civique : La Gendarmerie nationale s'engage aux côtés de l'École pour trois ans

The National Gendarmerie and the Ministry of National Education officially launched their joint activities on Thursday. This partnership aims to promote republican values and a culture of national defense among Senegalese youth.

The launch ceremony took place on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 2:30 p.m. at the Parcelles Assainies Elementary School Unit 24.

It was chaired by General (2S) Birame Diop, Minister of the Armed Forces, accompanied by Moustapha Mamba Guirassy, Minister of National Education, and Major General Martin Faye, High Commander of the National Gendarmerie and Director of Military Justice.

Several civil, administrative and military authorities attended this meeting, which marked a turning point in the collaboration between the army and the school.

This event marks the effective start of the activities planned under the partnership agreement signed on September 11, 2025 between the two ministries.

This collaboration demonstrates the shared desire to strengthen ties between the Armed Forces and the School in several strategic areas: civic education, defense culture and the promotion of republican values.

The National Gendarmerie is fully committed to this dynamic, remaining true to its commitment to implementing the Army-Nation concept.

This launch consolidates the framework for collaboration established between the two institutions and opens new perspectives for the civic education of young Senegalese.

In their respective speeches, the ministers emphasized the importance of this three-year renewable protocol.

The objective is clear: to equip Senegalese schools and youth with essential civic frameworks to train citizens aware of their responsibilities, ready to carry the nation's torch high.

According to the authorities, this partnership constitutes a strategic investment. It aims to prepare young people to embody the hope of the people and to meet future challenges in the spirit of civic duty, discipline, and patriotism.

The ceremony concluded in a warm atmosphere, marked by exchanges between the authorities and the students of the school. These moments of sharing illustrated the human and educational dimension of this new collaboration between the Gendarmerie and the National Education system, according to Colonel Ibrahima Ndiaye.
