Enseignement supérieur : Daouda Ngom installe le Comité du dialogue pour désamorcer les tensions
The Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Daouda Ngom, officially inaugurated the Social Dialogue Committee for the sub-sector (Cds-Sesri) this Thursday in Diamniadio. Chaired by Professor Lamine Guèye, former rector, this 18-member body brings together six key stakeholders in the academic community.
A bulwark against violence
In a context marked by recurring crises in public universities, the minister emphasized the urgency of this committee. It is not a body for making demands, but a mechanism for monitoring, prevention, and mediation. Its mission is clear: to anticipate and defuse tensions so that scenes of violence no longer tarnish these "temples of knowledge."
As reported by Le Soleil, Professor Lamine Guèye emphasized the importance of establishing a climate of mutual trust, respecting the rights of each party. The committee is expected to act as a true barometer of the social climate, capable of managing conflicts on an ongoing basis. Present at the ceremony, Mamadou Lamine Dianté, president of the High Council for Social Dialogue (HCDS), reiterated that without stability and consultation, no lasting progress is possible.
The minister concluded by urging members to be impartial and rigorous, placing the general interest above categorical considerations, reports the national daily.
