Grève du G7 à Kédougou : Une mobilisation massive qui paralyse les établissements scolaires

The nationwide strike called by the G7 teachers' unions was widely observed in the Kédougou region, where many schools operated at reduced capacity, if not completely closed. This protest, intended to demand respect for the agreements signed with the government, caused significant disruption to classes from the early hours of the morning.

In Salémata, the situation is clear: at the CEM (middle school), none of the 12 expected teachers showed up, resulting in a 100% absence rate. The same is true at the Bakary Dansokho Annex College in the Kédougou municipality, where the seven scheduled teachers were also conspicuously absent, representing a 100% strike rate.

The movement was also widely observed in several high schools in the region. At Sabodala High School, only three out of 18 teachers held classes, representing an attendance rate of 16.66%. At Mako High School, the trend was similar, with four out of 18 teachers present, or 22.22% attendance.

In the department of Saraya, mobilization remains strong. At the Bambou CEM, two out of five teachers were present, showing an attendance rate of 40%.

However, one school stands out in this generally bleak picture: the Fongolimbi high school, where the mobilization was significantly less widespread. Of the 15 teachers expected, 12 were present, representing an attendance rate of 80%, one of the highest in the region.
