Bac général 2026 : une hausse de 9 % des candidats et un dispositif renforcé
The 2026 General Baccalaureate exams begin this Tuesday, June 30th, across the country. For this session, the Baccalaureate Office reports an increase of over 9% in the number of registered candidates, with 180,801 expected compared to 166,400 in 2025. Girls remain the majority, representing 60.86% of the candidates. The predominance of humanities tracks is confirmed, with science tracks accounting for only 15.55% of candidates.
To ensure the smooth running of this exam, the country's first university diploma, Le Soleil reports that the Baccalaureate Office has mobilized a significant logistical operation, including 543 examination boards spread across 499 examination centers, as well as 18,163 proctors and 14,425 examiners. The 2026 session is also marked by the continued digitization of the process via the PortailBac platform, which dematerializes registration and allows candidates to access their exam invitations and information about their assigned examination center.
