Kaffrine : Les acteurs de l’éducation s’organisent pour une rentrée scolaire réussie

The Departmental Development Committee (CDD) dedicated to preparing for the 2025-2026 school year was held this Wednesday in Kaffrine, chaired by Prefect Aïssatou Ndiaye Diallo Bodian. Administrative authorities, local authorities, technical services, and school partners discussed the conditions for a successful return to school.

In her speech, the prefect called on all stakeholders to mobilize collectively. "Everyone must be involved to ensure a smooth and efficient return to school," she urged.

Presenting the situation in the schools, the Education and Training Inspector, Bathie Niang, indicated that weeding in schools continues. However, in the commune of Kaffrine, almost all schools have been weeded. However, local initiatives for infrastructure maintenance still need to be strengthened.

He thus launched an appeal to the population and the educational community to contribute more to the repair of schools.

Despite difficulties linked to the teacher shortage, temporary measures are planned, such as the grouping of small classes, while waiting for the deployment of new teachers by the Ministry of National Education.

According to him, the department is running behind a deficit of more than 100 teachers, a deficit that the inspectorate has been trying to fill for years.

The Kaffrine IEF, often cited as an example for its independent forums, intends to perpetuate this dynamic by organizing community meetings. Mayors have been invited to maintain their support, particularly through the provision of supplies and equipment, or the recruitment of contract workers.

The CDD also reiterated the strict ban on mobile phones in schools, a measure intended to strengthen students' concentration and improve their learning conditions.

The administrative and educational authorities of Kaffrine thus display a common desire: to make the 2025-2026 school year a success thanks to consultation and solidarity among all stakeholders.
