Like other regions of the country, the tests for the Certificate of Completion of Elementary Studies (CFEE) started this Wednesday in the Kaolack region where 11,324 candidates are going to take their first school diploma.

The prefect of Kaolack, Mamadou Guèye, accompanied by a large delegation, toured the main examination centers in the department to inquire about the smooth running of the tests.

According to him, "the CFEE exams in the Kaolack department were well prepared in advance based on administrative arrangements made to ensure the smooth running of the exams. We leave this tour very confident with a start without major difficulties across all 84 centers that make up the Kaolack department, which has a total of 11,324 registered candidates, including 6,467 girls who are by far the majority," he said happily.

The prefectural delegation visited the examination centers at Koutal 1, Koutal Sérère, Senghane, and Badiane (for the Moussa Sow school group). "What we saw is quite representative of what is happening throughout the rest of the Kaolack department. It is also an opportunity to encourage and congratulate all those involved in education who keep the education system running," he added.

It is worth noting that this edition of the CFEE is marked by a major innovation: the elimination of the entrance exam for 6th grade. This will allow all the tasks related to this exam to be completed within about ten days, and the final results for candidates to be released, unlike in the past when it was necessary to wait almost a month.

It should be noted that 52 absences were reported across the entire Kaolack department, with 50 recorded at the departmental education authority (IEF) and the other two at the municipal level. "The relatively high number of absences needs to be investigated to understand the reasons and take the necessary action, as a student who has completed the entire curriculum should be present on exam day. However, make-up sessions are planned and will allow these students to take the exams," he concluded.
