Kédougou : suivi contrasté du mot d’ordre de grève du G7 dans les établissements scolaires

The strike call issued by the G7 this morning at 9 a.m. saw very mixed results in schools across the Kédougou academy. Observations made in the various districts revealed that teacher participation ranged from low participation in some areas to near-total non-participation in others.

Saraya Department: Uneven mobilization

In Saraya County, the call to action was largely ignored, with the notable exception of the Khossanto high school.

At Saraya High School, out of 18 teachers, only one participated in the strike, representing a participation rate of 5.5%. The same trend was observed at Sabodala High School, where only 2 out of 15 teachers stopped classes at 9 a.m.

In contrast, the situation was quite different at the Khossanto high school, where 8 out of 12 teachers heeded the strike call, reflecting majority support for the movement. At the Bembou middle school, the strike saw very little participation, with only one teacher out of a total of 6 participating.

Kédougou Department: strong support in several institutions

In the Kédougou department, the G7's call to action was widely followed in several establishments.

At the Bakary Dansokho Annex Middle School, all five teachers present participated in the strike, representing a 100% participation rate. The same situation was observed at the Maciré Ba Middle School. The strike was also widely observed in other schools in the district.

At the Bandafassi high school, all nine teachers present this morning ended classes at 9:00 AM, demonstrating a 100% attendance rate. At the Mako high school, 20 out of 23 teachers present followed the strike order.

In Fongolimbi, on the other hand, the mobilization remained very weak, with only one teacher on strike out of 11 teachers present.

In the department of Salémata, the strike was fully respected in the two establishments visited out of the 12.

At the Salémata middle school, all 13 teachers present stopped classes at the designated time. The same situation occurred in Oubadji, where the 3 teachers scheduled to teach followed the order.

This first day of strike action in the Kédougou academy thus highlights a mobilization with varying degrees of participation depending on the localities, with some establishments where the strike was massively followed and others where it remained marginal.
