Le CAMES fait de Dakar le cœur battant de l’excellence académique africaine
The African and Malagasy Council for Higher Education opened the 22nd edition of the Competitive Examination in Legal, Political, Economic, and Management Sciences this Wednesday at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar. A true showcase of academic excellence, this biennial competition brings together the continent's most eminent academics around a shared objective: to strengthen the quality of African research and higher education by training high-level teacher-researchers.
CAMES Secretary General Souleymane Konaté reiterated that the institution's credibility rests on three essential principles: rigor, fairness, and transparency. A new jury charter has also been adopted to strengthen trust in the process and preserve the scientific integrity of the evaluations. The competition thus becomes not only an instrument of academic advancement, but also a model of governance for African universities.
By hosting this edition, Dakar once again asserts itself as a major intellectual center and a symbol of Francophone academic cooperation. Through this initiative, CAMES confirms its structuring role in the construction of an African knowledge space, based on the mutual recognition of skills, the mobility of talent, and endogenous scientific production. This 22nd edition is part of a dynamic of refounding African higher education, focused on intellectual sovereignty and the development of the continent's human capital.
