L’UCAD sacrée championne du concours de plaidoirie de la Cour de Justice de la CEDEAO
Cheikh Anta Diop University of Dakar (UCAD) continues to showcase Senegalese academic excellence on the African stage. Students from the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences (FSJP) won the 2nd edition of the ECOWAS Court of Justice Moot Court Competition, held in Dakar from May 20 to 22, 2026.

The Rector of UCAD, Alioune Badara Kandji, expressed his delight at this outstanding performance. He announced that after delivering a remarkable performance in the semi-final against Benin, the Senegalese team dominated Togo in the final, thus confirming the quality of the legal training provided at the university.
He extended his warmest congratulations to students Fatoumata Gano and Pape Mor Mboup for their commitment, rigor and the excellence of their performances throughout the competition.
He gave special recognition to Fatoumata Gano, named best advocate in the competition. This distinction honors not only UCAD and the FSJP, but also all African women lawyers.
Alioune Badara Kandji also praised the mentoring work of Dr Moustapha Fall, as well as the involvement of Dean Aminata Cissé Niang, the teaching staff and the entire student community.
This victory reinforces UCAD's academic leadership and testifies once again to its major role in training the legal elites of the African continent.
