MOHEBS/Sedhiou : Vers un enseignement-apprentissage de qualité
As part of efforts to improve teaching and learning, the Senegalese government deemed it necessary to introduce the teaching of national languages in the early years of a child's schooling. According to the regional education inspector, "introducing national languages means giving the community a significant role in achieving successful community mobilization, as well as in developing a communication strategy." Cheikh Yaba Diop explains that this facilitates the acceptance of the reform involving the introduction of national languages.
It is in this logic of acceptability and appropriation that guidelines were given to the communication officers of the IA and the IEF, and to the three focal points of the harmonized model for bilingual education in Senegal (MOHEBS).
"If we succeed in community mobilization and communication, we can hope that the program's results will be conclusive," declared the region's top teacher in an optimistic mood.
Already, through educational and didactic days, school principals have been trained in supervising teachers in targeted CI and CP classes.
These directors and inspectors will be deployed in the field to provide coaching to teachers already equipped with the teaching methods for national languages.
